West Essex Holiday Activity and Food Programme
Easter, Summer and Winter – Main Holidays
If your child/ren are on benefit related free school meals (FSM), you will receive a voucher from your school with your unique booking code. You will receive one code, per child, per main holiday. You must book your child/ren onto a club, using the booking link on your voucher, and not on this website.
For further support on booking your child/ren onto a club using your code, click here.
We offer paid places at £27 per session, please email us at afwestessex@activefuture.info
If your child cannot attend a club after they have booked on, please inform the club as soon as possible. Without doing so, you will lose your credits and stop someone else accessing a valuable space.
What do we do?
-
Movement Activity
We get to know the children well in the early stages and even before children and families arrive. Our Sports and movement activities are then implemented to meet the needs of the children. These could be organised team sports to chase games and even old school games like hide and seek.
-
Enrichment
We bring to the programme an in-depth programme of enrichment activities. These, like sports, are based on the needs of the children and we try to provide activities that are unique and new to children from animal therapy to circus skills. We also provide some quiet time for the children to just chill and be.
-
Food Provision
Wherever possible we like to provide the food on site with our own caterers. This allows us to involve the children in all parts of the food provision and not just the consumption. We try to get them to make the correct choices, help choose the ingredients and then provide the food to the group and take responsibility for cleaning up too.

Why Active Future?
It is built into our DNA, our whole reason for being is to instil a love of movement for life. The more people we can engage gets us closer to our long term aim of improving the lives of 1 million people per week.
We bring our experience of years of delivering HAF and expertise of delivering in multi settings to be able to provide fit for purpose child centred projects.
We look beyond the provision and how we can embed the programmes into the local community and ensure a legacy once it has ended.
Our staff are all professional coaches or from a teaching background. They have to undergo a significant training programme prior to delivery and these programmes are always topped up prior to any new programme to refresh updated policies and procedures.
