FREE PLAY EXPRESSION OF INTEREST
WHAT IS FREE PLAY?
Active Future has been established to increase the likelihood of lifelong participation in movement. What we know is that by aged 16, 80% of children and young people have left movement and sport never to return again and we want to change this statistic and get more people playing.
Free play looks back a generation when kids could be kids and play freely without the fear of failure and to play without the constant interruption from adults. The children get to make up their own rules and activities and the adults are there just to make sure it is safe. So could be large games of rounders or hide and seek or tag could be den building or assault course making. What we know is that children love attending and can move and explore lots of different sports and activities. Think of it as a movement based youth club.
